VISION STATEMENT
The Montpellier community of students, parents and staff is highly motivated and shares a vision of excellence for the school. The core purpose of the school is to provide a comprehensive education for all students enabling them to reach their academic, social and physical potential.

MISSION STATEMENT
Montpellier Primary School offers a high quality, stimulating education in a caring supportive environment. We are committed to "Striving for Excellence" with the aim of every student achieving their maximum learning potential. This is supported through:

  • Delivering a balanced educational program that incorporates the Victorian Curriculum and the AusVELS best practice foundations of Equity and Inclusiveness, Innovation & Creativity, Clarity of Essential Learning and Assessment of Learning
  • Maintaining a safe, orderly and caring environment.
  • Providing teaching and learning strategies which recognise self esteem and encourage children to accept challenges.
  • Using an inquiry approach to learning.  Providing parents with regular, accurate progress reports.
  • Valuing the individual.
  • Providing resources to facilitate the school's vision and priorities.
  • Providing engaging experience through "hands on" activities.

AIMS
Montpellier will work in partnership with parents and the community to empower our students to live in and contribute to a rapidly changing society and to become responsible, independent children who care about others and their environment. We encourage everyone to have a sense of belonging and pride in the whole school community. Our aims for the pupils are that they should:

  • Be happy, confident and enjoy learning.
  • Be able to work both independently and cooperatively.
  • Be able to develop an understanding of themselves as learners.
  • Care, be respectful and be responsible for themselves, others, their environment and the community.
  • Understand, show tolerance and respect for others.
  • Develop a love of learning and a curiosity of the world around them.
